Look what a cruise around the block can produce...

Lindsey, my stepdaughter, and I went on a little cruise today looking for great locations to shoot from. We didn't have to travel far from home, which was nice.
Here are a couple of my favorite shots of Linds that I took today...

16 on the 14th...

My stepdaughter, Lindsey, will be 16 on August 14..holy cow! I came into her life when she was five and although we have had our share of ups and downs, we still find common ground from time to time. Lindsey came with me to take my sister-in-laws engagement photos and I shot a few of her before we left...tomorrow we are going on a photo shoot all around the county...

Yost-to-be

Last week I went to Sullivan Twp. Park in Pentwater and took engagement photos for my sister-in-law, Kelly, that is getting married October 24 to Dan Yost. I am really soooo excited for her, she is marrying an absolutely wonderful man that reminds me a lot of my husband, so I can tell you that he is really great! lol

This was my first engagement photo shoot and we did have a lot of fun...the location was really pretty and gave some good opportunities. Kelly had a lot of ideas as to what she wanted and where she wanted the photos...like Dan dipping her while standing in the water...he wasn't very happy about that, but being the trooper that he is, went along with it.

Turtle Lake Buck

While we were camping in Beulah last week my husband saw this beautiful buck in velvet across the lake...

I snuck by the boat launch and very slowly creeped up to where I could get some photos...

He was so beautiful eating lily pads...truly amazing!

A Family Gathering

Cindy lovin' on Lela..

Lela watching the rowdy boys at play...

Sophia taking a break...

Sunday we went to my aunt and uncle's home to visit my cousin Cindy who is home for a long weekend. It's been a couple years since she's been home so it was great to spend time with her again. We also got to meet my other cousin Nick's two beautiful daughters who are soooo adorable! I honestly haven't been around little girls in a while and am only used to the rough and tumble of my two boys, so to witness the delicacy of two little girls was a treat!

Just Candids

I met with a wonderful couple a few days ago to discuss the possibility of photographing their wedding in September. Kathleen, the bride-to-be, wanted to see some "people" shots. I have never sat anyone and had them pose for shots, I've only done candids and mostly of my children. So I collected my favorites from the past couple years to show the future bride and groom, and here are a few of them. (I am also thrilled to say that I will be photographing their wedding in September, yeah!! I am soooo excited!!!) Thanks, Kathleen and Jason...

Camping, Fishing and a Triathlon, Oh My!

First, let me say that I did not participate in a triathlon....I photographed one Sunday at Interlochen State Park in Interlochen, MI. It was called Inter-Rockin and it was my second triathlon to photograph. Very fun, a lot of running from here to there, but I love it!! It also makes me think how much I need to work out! Here are few from the event...

On our way up North we traveled my favorite stretch of road, M22, and stopped at Point Betsie in Frankfort. The beach is mostly rocks and that's just what my boys love!

We went camping at Turtle Lake Campground in Beulah over the weekend and we had a blast!!! Not many fish in Turtle Lake, but we had fun trying to get them!!! Aiden, my youngest son, gets bored of fishing pretty quickly, so he got the bubbles out and I photographed some landing on the water...pretty amazing...

Flowers, flowers and more flowers

I think photographing flowers in one of my favorite things to do, besides photographing my kids. They are so intricate and they look so different at every angle. Here are a few of my favorites...see the moon in the final sunflower photo?

Nuveen Center "Emerging Artists of White Lake" Exhibit

This past winter I entered three photographs in an exhibit at the Nuveen Center titled "Emerging Artists of White Lake". Photos were not judged but were for sale. This was one that I entered titled "We Three Bees". Look closely, there are three bees on the sunflower. I took this photo and my other sunflower photos in Montague, MI on Lamos Rd and on Whitbeck Rd last summer.

Nuveen Center "Community Lens" Submissions

I am entering the Nuveen Center's juried exhibit titled "Community Lens". The photos I have here are what I'm entering. Top prize is $50. First photo is "Summer Snowball", a dandelion that was photographed in my yard. Second is "Channel Reflections", the Montague side of the White Lake Channel. Finally, "Mudd Lake Hopeful", my husband's bobber captured on Mudd Lake behind our home. I love taking photos of textures and closeups! Enjoy!
