The boys and I went with my niece and nephew and picked pumpkins from Scholls in Montague this year. Like I've said before, it's local hometown greatness at its best. They have the coolest hayslide there and the kids loved it!! There's nothing better than a pumpkin patch on a beautiful fall day...makes me smile.

Hometown Goodness
I love fall...it's my favorite season by far. The crunching leaves beneath your feet, the changing of the foilage, pumpkins and gourds, and of course jeans and sweaters. The smell of the air is different as well and it just puts me in good spirits. Stu Scholl, who's family has a farm out by where I grew up, has the greatest pumpkin and gourd patch. In the spring he has a huge strawberry field, then raspberries, then pumpkins and gourds. Nothing fancy, you pay by the honor system, which I love because it feels really "hometown-ish". This year he added a huge hay slide-I'll upload those pics in my next post- and a hay sofa backdropped with cornstalks and surrounded by a vast array of pumpkins...I love it there....if you didn't make it out there this year, make it a destination next year.
It's just a place that makes me feel good about living where I do. Thanks, Stu and family!

My sister....
My sis Kel wanted some photos taken of her and her kids on the bridge between Montague and Whitehall. I have never done photos there and was hoping it wasn't going to be too crowded, plus it was a little earlier than I normally like to take photos (I'm an evening kind of gal....love the glow!). We also went to a spot I've been dying to take shots at...and they turned out to be my faves...take a look! Aren't my niece and nephew adorable??!! lol

Moore Family
In the spring I had the pleasure of meeting Owen Moore and his parents, Kendra and Lance. We had a blast with their session and then did a session for Lance's side of the family in August. Kruse Park is one of my favorite locations and we spent about an hour there and got some really awesome shots..thanks to Kendra and Lance for re-booking me!

Sunflower Mini-Sessions
Back in August, on probably the hottest day of the year, I did a couple mini sessions in a sunflower field in Montague. The humidity was crazy and it was sooooo hot! These kids did such great job, they were real troopers!

Stef and Neil
What a super fun couple!! I have known Stef for a few years, we used to work together at Old Channel Inn, she a bartender and I a waitress. Oh, those were the days...we had so much fun working together! Neil and Stef were married at her parent's home in Southern Michigan and I had the honor of photographing their big day. A little rain didn't hurt this celebration, fun was had by all, along with some great shots! Here are just a few...congrats Stef and Neil!
Family Session...
I have known Stephanie for a very long time. A few months ago I did her soon to be stepdaughter's senior photos (search Becca on my blog) and we planned the family session for her mother. We met at Lake Harbor Park in Muskegon, and what a great place! I had never been there before, and I feel uneasy when I haven't had a chance to scope out the location before session. What a beautiful park!! I loved hanging out with her family and here are a few from that evening....

Spencer Class of 2011
A great friend of mine asked me to take her son's senior portraits..what a great kid! Spencer is a senior at Walkerville and is just a ball of energy. We trekked all over Oceana County and he was quite the trooper. Good luck to you, Spencer..enjoy this great time in your life!
